Department of Computer Science

      Computer Science is the scientific and practical approach to computation and its applications. It is the systematic study of the feasibility, structure, expression and mechanization of the methodical processes(or algorithms) that underlie the acquisition, representation, processing, storage, communication of and access to information, whether such information is encoded in bits and bytes in a computer memory or transcribed engines and protein structures in a human cell. A computer scientist specializes in the theory of computation and the design of computational systems.

      The Department offers a 3 year M.C.A & a 2 year M.Sc (Computer Science) courses. MCA was established in the year 1991. M.Sc (Computer Science) was established in the year 1998. There are two well equipped computer labs and one Microprocessor lab.The Department has well qualified and experienced teaching staff and lab assistants. The faculty is encouraged to attend international and national seminars regularly.

      The Department organizes an IT Seminar SYNCHRONIZE –IT regularly and the theme of the Seminar based on current and relevant topics in the field of computer science offers the students an opportunity to listen to eminent and experienced personnel from the industry. Workshops are also arranged for students. Eminent personalities from the industry are invited as key speakers. Pre-Placement Training programmes are also conducted to equip the students with relevant knowledge to face interviews.

      Guest lectures by eminent academicians and industrialists like Dr P.Radha Krishna, Scientist,CCMB, Dr.P.PremChand, Professor, CSE Department(OU), Mr.C.Pratap, Managing Director, NeoApp Technologies, Mr. M.Srikanth Reddy, Development Manager, HTC Global are also organized.

      The academic performance of the students has been consistently outstanding.

      The Department collaborates with "Genesys software Training & development company" , “NeoApp Technologies Pvt Ltd” and “Hayasree Technologies” in providing project guidance and placement services and with “CSC Technologies” in developing reasoning skills of students.

      The Department conducts Group discussions, class room seminars, field oriented studies and Campus recruitment Training. The students are assigned project work in final semester. They participate in various inter college competitions like Paper presentation, Essay writing, Elocutions, Singing, Indoor and Outdoor games etc..

      Alumni are in highly respectable professional positions in various industries. They mentor the juniors on career, industry opportunities, higher education (Indian/Overseas),feedback/suggestions for improvement on training etc. In addition to that a facility of exchanging information through e-mails is also provided.
